Kevin McGinn arrived in Los Angeles in 1990, and has had a thriving training and showing business ever since. He has spent much time in Europe learning from top German riders and importing many successful horses to America — most notably Stonebridge Alias, Levantos and Kasper, one of the winningest large pony hunters of the last decade. Kevin is pleased to be training where his West Coast career began, at the "center" of riding: the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.
Kevin is a sought after clinician who produces clinics in Southern California and many locations around the United States. He is a contributing writer whose equestrian articles have appeared in The California Horse Trader, California Riding, and Bay Area Equestrian Online. He also has hosted Facebook's wildly popular Trivia Night /Q+A on the "Judge My Ride" page, reaching as many as 1 million readers per month. Kevin also has been a guest commentator on the live webcast Showjumping Unplugged TV covering "A" circuit Grand Prix competition from venues such as HITS Thermal, Blenheim Equisports, and The Los Angeles Equestrian Center.
Kevin is very proud to be working on the pilot series of a new series of riding rallys that was conceived by Atlanta Olympic Course designer Linda Allen. The Benchmark Program (www.thebenchmarkprogram.com) brings the highest standards of riding in a one day format at a cost that allows horse trainers and breeders to acquire show ring mileage for new horses or riders at a fraction of the price of a rated horse show. The Benchmark Program has garnered national interest and has been featured in articles in California Show Biz, The Equestrian News, and The Chronicle of the Horse.
Kevin's first love is teaching. He welcomes riders of all levels to call and set up a tour of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, located in Burbank, CA. Read more about Kevin's teaching venue.
