Kevin McGinn is happy to say that he's back at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center assisting Ginny Planke in training at
Ever Wood Stables in Burbank, California.
Kevin and Ginny, both native to Long Island, New York, have known and ridden together since the late 1970s, when they trained under the late Robert Hoskins as junior riders. Their varied career experiences, combined with similar core training techniques emphasizing command of the basics of riding, make for a comprehensive and successful program for children, juniors, and adult riders.
Kevin and Ginny's combined success can bring out your best in any ring, whether your interest is equitation, hunters, jumpers, or ponies. Amelia CB Goldman adds her riding skill and compatible size to train along with Ginny's program, producing some of the finest ponies in the nation.
Kevin balances training at home with time spent showing on the road (
see Kevin's show schedule).
He believes the strong emphasis on basic skills developed at home must be strengthened through the pressure of the show ring environment. Kevin's students compete on both the "A" and "B" circuits, as he feels smaller shows are great confidence builders while large shows stretch riders to rise to a higher standard.
Kevin's many trips to Europe have enabled him to complement classic dressage techniques with the European method of show jumping.
In addition to providing
full training services for horses and
lessons for riders, he is available for
judging and clinics, day coaching at shows, and accepts approved horses for consignment sale.
Kevin's mentors include such notables as Kathy Kusner, Linda Allen, Joe Fargis, and
Susan Hutchison.
